Martin Havelock - MCIArb
Originally a practising lawyer, Martin has 30 years of industrial, commercial and professional services experience as an HR specialist. Along with continuous hands-on work with employees, employers, directors and partners, he has sat on a number of executive boards, including as chief executive of an NHS trust.
As a mediator, his approach is practical and direct, developed during extensive experience across different business sectors including electronics, pharmaceuticals, publishing, luxury goods and a major City law firm. He has a deep understanding of the human dimensions of change and has contributed to resolving disputes from reception desk to boardroom.
Through the combination of a legal background and board experience he has developed a thorough and practical approach to governance, with a particular understanding of organisational change (including merger, acquisition and disposal) and its consequences
Martin is a non-practising barrister. He is accredited as a commercial mediator (Chartered Institute of Arbitrators) and workplace mediator (ADR Group). He also holds the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Certificate.
He is an associate with Pi Pension Trustees, an elected Public Governor of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and holds non-executive appointments with Metropolitan Housing (Safeguarding and Quality Committee) and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
